+ WHO IS ORGANIZING THE CONFERENCE?

We are students, researches, data scientists, machine learning engineers and IT developers volunteers who share the passion and thrill of learning and inspiring others about what we do. We joined forces and use our experiences coming from very different cultural and educational backgrounds to create this unique event.

+ WHAT IS A KEYNOTE TALK?

Keynote talk is a 30 minutes long talk about a technical topic.

+ WHAT IS A LIGHTHING TALK?

Lightning talk is brief talk about a specific topic that takes around 20 minutes including Q&A.

+ WHAT ARE MENTORSHIP SESSIONS? WHO ARE THE MENTORS?

Mentors are speakers and special sponsor-representatives who share their knowledge on a previously determined topic with the attendees. The mentorship sessions take place in a relaxed environment and the participants are strongly encouraged to actively engage in the discussions.

+ IS SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS OFFERED AT THE VENUE?

Yes, the conference venue is accessible via main entrance and elevator. There is a wheelchair accessible as well as all genders restroom. Please note that, unfortunately, no support for people with special needs will be available at the conference shuttle bus. If you have any specific needs, please reach out to wids.attendees@gmail.com and we will do our best to accommodate them.

+ WHERE DO I REGISTER?

The tickets are available here. During purchase of the tickets, a form for registration will pop-up.

+ WHY DO I NEED TO FILL OUT A REGISTRATION FORM?

To provide the best learning and networking experience, we want to make sure the conference is well balanced. This is why we ask you to fill out a short registration form during purchase of ticket.

+ CAN I GET A REFUND IN CASE I CAN NOT ATTEND ON SHORT NOTICE?

Please check the cancellation policy mentioned here. Cancellations must be received two weeks prior to the conference for a full refund to be available. Any cancellation received after that date will not guarantee a refund. Refund will be decided on a case-by-case basis. Please send your refund request to wids.attendees@gmail.com.

+ WILL THERE BE A SPACE TO SIT AND WORK FROM MY LAPTOP?

Yes, there is a space to sit and work from a laptop.

+ HOW WILL MY CV BE SHARED WITH COMPANIES? HOW CAN I PROMOTE MYSELF FOR JOB OPPORTUNITIES?

During the conference, we have networking sessions, as well as mentorship sessions, so you can connect with other participants or representatives from the companies. We share participant’s CVs with the conference sponsors.

+ AM I ELIGIBLE FOR TRAVEL GRANT?

If you have taken part in poster submission and your poster has been accepted, and you reside within Switzerland, then yes, you are eligible for travel grant.

+ WHEN DO I RECEIVE MONEY FROM THE TRAVEL GRANT?

You will get a travel grant refund only after attending the conference.

+ WILL YOU ORGANIZE A VISA, SO I CAN COME TO SWITZERLAND FOR THE CONFERENCE?

If you require a visa to enter Switzerland, you would need to organize it yourself.
