Nicola was appointed Chief Operating Officer and member of the P&C Reinsurance Executive Committee in April 2023.
She leads P&C Re’s global COO organisation, spanning Business Operations, Business Excellence, Claims, In-Force and Transactions Management, and is responsible for the continued modernisation of the end-to-end operational platform and operating model.
Nicola is also driving P&C Re’s “Advance with AI” agenda, integrating AI into core underwriting and claims capabilities to enhance decision-making, deepen insights and elevate the client experience. In February 2026, she assumed an expanded role as Group AI Business Lead at Swiss Re, supporting the acceleration of AI adoption and impact across the enterprise.
Nicola joined Swiss Re in 2003 and has held several senior leadership roles, including Head of P&C Business Management and Global Head of Claims for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. During her time at Corporate Solutions, she led a range of strategic initiatives, including the launch of Primary Lead and International Business offerings, client retention and portfolio management strategies, and the development of an industry-leading claims service approach.
Nicola is a dual citizen of Great Britain and New Zealand. She holds a BA/LLB (Hons) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
